This Week on AiDIY: Suno, Fixes, and Featured Five

Matt St. Onge·16 October 2026·3 min read

Hey, hope you're doing well. This week I finally cracked the annoying panning problem in Suno V6 that's been driving me up the wall. I also spent some time testing alternatives to Suno, and I sat down with BenStar to talk about treating Suno like a recording artist, not just a tool.

We also had a big open genre live stream on Monday, and Week 105 of the Featured Five is out now. There's a lot to get through, so let's jump in.

This week's videos

Suno Is Struggling… So I Tried The Alternatives

Suno Is Struggling… So I Tried The Alternatives

I put Suno V6 to the test after hearing all the criticism, then tried Mureka, ElevenLabs, Google Lyria, and an open-source model called ACE with the same prompt and lyrics. Some surprised me, and while I'm not leaving Suno, the open-source options are getting interesting. (21 min)

AiDIY Monday Live - Must Be Present To Be Played. No Challenge

This week's AiDIY Monday Live was a 2.6-hour open genre session with no challenge and no rules. We played whatever people brought, with a 4:40 time limit per song. It's week one of a two-week open genre run, so bring your wide-open takes next time. (Live, 2.6 hours)

Part 2 of my podcast with BenStar, creator of AI R&B group CRY4U. We talk about how he uses Suno for takes, ad libs, and harmonies, why he doesn't see AI music as cheating, and what it takes to build a brand around limitations. (28 min)

I Finally Fixed Suno V6’s Annoying Panning Problem!

After weeks of random panning effects in Suno V6, I finally found a fix thanks to the community. I show the before and after, the settings I changed (switching to V6 Wild and tweaking Weirdness and Style Influence), and how it worked across multiple songs. (7 min)
