Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 October 2026
AiDIY ("AiDIY", "we", "us") is run by Matthew St. Onge, AiDIY: The AI Music Guy, on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. This policy explains what we collect on this website, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
What we collect
| When you… | We collect |
|---|---|
| Submit a song to the Featured Five | Your name, email, artist name, song and visual links, the tools you used, your answers about rights and permissions, and any social links you choose to add. |
| Apply for the podcast or use Work With Me | Your name, email, organisation, website and what you tell us in the form. |
| Join the newsletter | Your email and a record of when and how you agreed (so we can prove consent). |
| Sign in as a member | Your name, email, profile picture and an account ID from the service you sign in with (Google, Microsoft or Discord), or your email and a securely hashed password. |
| Email us | Your message and email address. |
| Visit any page | Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept by our host for security, and one session cookie that keeps you signed in and protects forms. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. |
Signing in with Google, Microsoft or Discord
If you choose one of these, we only ask for your basic profile: name, email address and profile picture. We use them to create and sign you in to your AiDIY member account and to link it to your existing AiDIY profile when the email matches. We never see your password, we don't read your email, contacts, files or YouTube account, and we don't post anything on your behalf.
Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is not sold, not used for advertising, and not used to train AI models.
How we use it
- To review songs for the Featured Five, reply to you, and feature you on the channel and in the Hall of Fame if picked.
- To reply to podcast, collaboration and business enquiries.
- To send the newsletter, only if you opted in. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To run member accounts and keep the site secure (for example, stopping spam and repeated failed sign-ins).
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with advertisers.
Who helps us run the site
Your information is stored on our web host's servers (Panthur). We also use these services, each only for the purpose listed:
- Microsoft 365 to send and receive email.
- Google, Microsoft and Discord only if you choose to sign in with them.
- YouTube to show our live streams and videos (YouTube's own privacy policy applies when you play a video).
- Fourthwall runs our store checkout. Payment and shipping details go straight to Fourthwall, not to us.
How long we keep it
We keep submissions, enquiries and our conversations with you while they're useful for the show and our relationship with you, and Hall of Fame entries permanently as part of the show's history. Newsletter consent records are kept even after you unsubscribe so we never email you again by mistake. You can ask us to delete anything else at any time.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from emails using the link at the bottom of any newsletter, or from your member account.
- See, fix or delete your member profile from My account, including deleting the account itself.
- Ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, by emailing matt@aidiy.tech. We'll reply within 30 days.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Security
The site runs over HTTPS. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, admin access requires a separate sign-in, and keys for the services we use are kept on the server only, never in web pages.
Children
This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Big changes will be announced in the newsletter.
