What happens when a musician from a small Ohio band discovers AIāand ends up building a full-blown digital record label with entirely fictional personas?
You get Professor Jacket Musicāa world where Western outlaws rap over trap beats, Gen Z pop stars forget how to spell their names, and the music is powered by one guyās creativity and a whole lot of Suno.
But behind the characters and music videos is a deeper story. One about loss, reinvention, and rediscovery.
āAI music brought me back to my creative place.āĀ ā Bobby Clark, aka Professor Jacket
Letās break it down.
šø From Local Band Dreams to Creative Burnout
Bobby was part of a rock band called FILTHāgrinding it out, playing music while juggling day jobs. Like so many indie musicians, the spark was there⦠but life got in the way.
āI really enjoyed making music during that era of my life. It gave me a confidence I couldnāt find anywhere else.ā
But when the band fell apart, Bobby tried going soloāand struggled.
š¤ The AI Pivot: Music Reinvented
Then he found Suno AI.
By October, heād released his first 20-track album, Witch Tunes: A Horror Anthology. Every track had visuals. Some had full music videos. It wasnāt just outputāit was obsession.
By March, heād finished his second album Breaking Reality, releasing a new track every week.
But hereās the thing: He still wasnāt gaining traction.
So he asked the big question:
āHow can I make myself stand out from every other AI YouTube channel out there?ā
𧪠The Answer: Build a Record Label⦠With Fictional Artists
Bobby created Professor Jacket Musicāa concept label featuring a growing cast of characters with their own lore, personalities, and online presence.
Meet the first two:
- MadisynnĀ ā A gold-dripping Gen Z pop diva who lives like itās always Saturday night at the mall.
- Colton LynchĀ ā A western hip-hop outlaw who rides the line between justice and revenge with a six-shooter and a mic.
āEach character replies to fans in character. They have their own voice, their own vibe. Itās like musical cosplay meets digital storytelling.ā
Heās also teased a space pop starĀ and a metalcore mermaid trio. And yes, we want them yesterday.
š¬ What We Talked About in the Interview

āTo me, AI music is like a public diary. Itās how I process the world.ā
š£ Advice for AI Creators Starting Out
Bobbyās advice is simpleābut worth repeating:
- Use your strengths.Ā Whether itās video, writing, voice, or visualsālean in.
- Donāt expect instant success.Ā Just keep showing up.
- Make it personal.Ā Music only connects when it means something to youĀ first.
- Build something no one else can fake.Ā That's your moat.
