About
I’m Annie, a Norwegian artist working with painting, photography, sculpture, writing, graphic design—and now music. I also worked in web design, back in the days when it still mattered.
I’m trained in fine art and web design, with a few unexpected additions: herbal medicine, coaching and natural skincare. My interests have never fitted neatly into one category.
That includes my dolls. I build miniature sets, photograph them and share their stories on a fairly large and rapidly growing Instagram account. The doll community is surprisingly extensive! My dolls also inspire every character in Tiny Tales, a concept within my music project Nordic Halo.
My two music projects reflect different sides of me. Annie V. explores humour, satire and everyday absurdities, while Nordic Halo embraces dreamy atmospheres and deeper questions. I’m unusually preoccupied with life after death—a fascination strongly reflected in my latest album, *Beyond the Portals*.
Music has simply given me another tool for expression. I love compressing ideas into poetic, humorous or sometimes serious lyrics, while the music carries the mood and emotion.
As a teenager, I took organ lessons because a friend and I planned to start a band. Keyboard lessons weren’t available. Yes, I’m that old. The band never happened, but my love of music stayed.
Now I’m playing again. I’m no virtuoso, but I can plink out a melody and feed it into AImusicgen.ai. AI has opened creative possibilities I didn’t have before, and making music brings me enormous joy.
My videos bring everything together: my photographs, artwork and storytelling. I work in Photoshop, develop my visual ideas with ChatGPT, animate them with Grok and assemble everything in CapCut. It’s a chance to put everything I’ve learned—and imagined—to use.
