About
Tika Carr is an independent musician, songwriter, producer, and visual artist based in Rochester, NY. Playing guitar and keyboards since childhood, she blends rock, metal, blues, and jazz with electronic genres like dubstep, vaporwave, and 1990s DemoScene music. After health challenges prompted an early step back from live performances, Tika turned her four decades of computer programming experience toward studio production. From her early work featured on a 1994 GEnie MIDI compilation cassette to her current studio setup—featuring electric guitars, an Arturia MiniLab 3, Mixcraft Pro Studio, and AI tools—she continually merges music with evolving technology.
Beyond music, Tika is an Art Instruction Schools graduate who creates bold, expressionist, and illustrative works in acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media, regularly exhibiting in the Rochester Contemporary Art Center’s annual 6x6 benefit show. Living with chronic illness and nerve damage, she uses her presence across online creative communities to champion accessible arts, creative independence, and the empowerment of disabled creators.
